I f you want to command a siege you first have to have the enemy locked up in their castle. With your army that is occupying the province with that has the castle you are sieging in it. Drag your army onto the castle when it's time for battles to be fought the usual battle message will come and say would you like to command the castle assault personally, click on yes.

Welcome mate have a tankard https://forums.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/barrel.gif.

If you are invading a province with a stronghold in you have to drag your army onto it and then a caption will come up asking you whether you wish to siege it or not. You click yes. Once you reach the battle screen at the end of the year it will then ask whether you want to command the siege personally, autocalculate, abandon the siege etc. You obviously choose the first option.

Hope that helps https://forums.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-2thumbsup.gif .

Looks like I was beaten to it by RexImperator https://forums.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-curtain.gif .
Also I forgot to say that when you first invade a province you can't drag your army onto any stronghold there until the year after.
