Okay looking through the music folder today, I realized there are different .wav's or whatever format, one for each season, this is the music that is played on the strat map. So I need to do some testing but I wonder if you can somehow use the music, while moving your pieces at the right time determine what the weather would be, Ive never had a winter battle...

multiple battles per turn take place in subsequent seasons, so if you fight four battles in a single turn you would fight one in each season
