The book Warfare in the Classical World is mentioned in the topic Books on Medieval Europe and Rome.
But as I started to read this book I thought it deserved a hightlight an a topic just for it.
I've read and am reading other books about ancient history and warfare but this one is just like a preparation and antecipation for the game
The text is very good but the best thing about it are the illustrations.
There are many battle maps and full page colour depictions of combatants from different armies with detailed explanations, many illustrations of the weapons and comparisons showing the evolution of then in time. Some 3 or 4 steps graphics for instance showing how a phalax would engage a legion, etc, etc. Its a great visual reference.
I'm gonna read it very slowly so it lasts until the game is released...
If you dont have it consider buying it
