I am sure this has been discussed before in the original forums however that is not available for me to search. Has there been any word of a possible co-op multiplayer for RTW? Either allies up against the computer or even the whole game in Co-op (this part is unlikely I am sure).

If you're talking about a campaign then no. The only thing that will be in Multiplayer will be battles (in which you can have human allies) and Historical Battles, not sure how they'll work...but probably the same way.

I figured no with the campaign I guess that would be very hard from a programming aspect. Much like in the Command and Conquer series of games (dont flame just an example) I would love to be able to host a game of 4, have 2 of them computers and then a buddy and I can ally up against the 2 NPC's. Is this possible from what has been said?

Co-Op in any game really adds something to the game for me, even though the computer is not nearly as crafty or as good as a human opponent it is just fun to do.

Yeah I agree. Why dont they make a multiplayer campaign mode where you can play with humans against ai, or human vs human? They did it in eu2 and vicky, not that hard... come on

Ye its not that hard despite what peeps have said :\ its already possible with vi with 1 exception that u have to autoresolve battles. It takes work but is very possible using a debug command all thats missing is the ability to simulate the batles online which could be solved by a simple text file generated for each battle and used to determine the online battle like how u can save custom game setups.

Now witht he advent of bring able to setup historical battles for online play in rome it should be possible to simulate battles with reduced size units although the generals added vlor and traits we cant simulate (unless thats available in the historical battle mode) but at least its a step in the right direction, i only hope that ca have the devotion to the fans to leave such debug comands in and let the community see what WE can create with it and the new historical online option.
