Faction Desciptions

Im still having problems with adding faction desciptions to my mod. I find it odd that I can't see any desciptions in early (not even the old factions), in high and late, only the old show. Is there anyone who has any info on adding faction desciptions to mods? ~:confused:

Well for M:TW it is in MTWDirectory/Loc/Eng/Startpos (or any other file I'm not sure). It is for me anyways. You can add in descriptions for the factions here. I'm not sure if thi works for VI though.

Where exactly? I succeeded in putting some descriptions of factions and the period at the end of the file, where it is said "Text added after 7th Jan 2003 begins here:"
If it doesn't work, try in the same position of the CHANGES file.

Im still having problems sadly. Is there a special way write the desciptions?
Am asking this becouse the germans are written not as german_hre_early, but as german(s?)_early. I have tryed adding a fn_faction, faction_early_xl and just faction. It's realy a great pain ~:confused:

No idea.
First of all I think everything is written in caps.
Second, I am not sure about how to name the era. For example the title of my mod is "La Reconquista" but the era is RECONQUISTA (short title?).
I will try it again (I did it some time ago) and I will tell you the results.

In my case there is an additional problem, because the factions keep the old name (e.g. FN_ALMOHAD). Then I think there is some misfunction. In case of viking the new factions are named FN_01... and that time when the descriptions appeared was when I tried with new factions declared as FN_R01...

What is the name of your new faction?

One of the new factions are the teutonic knights (FN_TEUTONIC). The old factions will need to keep the names, becouse the GA mode will stop working if they get a new name. The new ones can change without problems.

Edit: I have just found out that the desciptions show, if I make the mod an overwrite. My mod was an addon mod like VI before. I seams that MTW has a problem with it's an addon.

Let's see if I have understood (my English is not so good).
You mean that when your mod substitutes an original startpos file, Early for example, then the descriptions appear.
My problem is that my mod is also an addon. ~:(

Jepp, something like that. Early works like you say, High show if I takeaway the era (NOVGOROD_HIGH => NOVGOROD). Late desciption work, but Novgorod got the pope's desciption.
