Have you tried spyware blaster? I've had mixed results with it...mostly because it's disabled.

Spybot Search & Destroy, AdAware.

Both free.

AdAware is the best one out there imo.

for specialized cases you can use Hijack This or CoolWebShredder.

Do a search on google for them.

They fix a lot of things that spybot and adaware sometimes can't catch.

It's preventative. Works well too.

I second the Ad Aware motion. I use their free scanning program once a week or so and just purge what it finds. (50-75 trackers usually)

Adaware 6.0
Spybot Search & Destroy 1.3

I use both and a regisitry editor. You have to remember to update them (usually about once a week). The new Micro$oft Internet Explorer should help some with the pop-up stopper, as long as they programmed it correctly.

You should get spywareblaster as well, it immunises internet explorer :tomato: :tomato: and firefox :jumping: :jumping: for active-x malice. It is updated very often.

Try this,

or this

These programmes work ok and make backups of deleted files just in case you may need them again, but I would make a full backup before letting any Reg Cleaner do its job.

MajorGeeks is a good site for all kinds of stuff, so have a look around for any other useful freeware.
