Requirements for University?

Aplogies if this has been asked before, I can't seem to find a search function, please feel free to point it out if there is one ~:confused:

What are the requiremetns for universities. Because I have a Cathedral built in Poland and I can't build a university. DO I need anything else?

In all seriousness now, there's a search function just up there. *points up* There's a bar that reads "User CP, FAQ, Members List, Calendar, New Posts, Search"

You have a cathedral, so according to my tech tree, you should be able to build a university. You can't be playing as Muslim, because they can't build that...my only other guess is that Universities are period-limited, so maybe you have to be in Late or High or something? What year is your game in right now?

I can see the bar, but I can't see the search. It goes

Anyway, I'm in the year 1194. I'm playing as the Polish in Glorious Acheivements mode, and one of the goals is to have a university in Poland by 1204 (not to sure about the exact date, but it is about then). I'm looking at the tech tree that came with the game and it is saying a cathedral only, but it is not showing up in the build options for poland. I'm going to miss the first date, but I'd like to get hte thing built. ~:confused:

Seems likely then that it's a High/Late-only building, then. Strange that the GA goal should list that date-anyone else know the answer?

Oh, and you're missing 'search', I realised, because you're still only a Junior Patron. I think you have to wait a while, and when you get promoted up, it'll appear, along with the option to edit your posts and suchlike.

Yeah, it seems strange that there would be a unacheivable goal, no matter what. Thanks for your help anyway.

No problems about the lack of a search function, although that seems somewhat strange as new members (with possibly common questions) would probably have the most need.

i think that may be related to the fact that this forum is not yet fully featured.
remember there was a crash and the old forum was "transplanted" on to Tosa's machine etc, etc.
The one we're on right now has not been fully restored, so not all features are available.

IIRC search was disabled (for everybody) on the old forum as well, a few days before the crash, because of some problems.

university is fortress level so you need a fortress also.

it's quite doable if you more or less tech up with it in mind.

The tech tree that comes with the game is confusing. The University icon is partly on the Fortress level, but mostly on the Citidel level. I wish it were a little clearer.
