Anyone else having trouble connecting to server... if the servers gone down again i spent the last "drought" of shogun molding a silver bullet engraved with EA's name on it. If its my computer that will wind me up even more http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif.. plz reply if anyone else experiencing problems..thx

Thought so, I had probs connecting last night. The number of drops lately had me wondering about the state of the server. Did anyone else feel it wasn't quite 'right' after the last fix? Is this a farewell from EA?

I think there is something definently going down......considering they still havent fixed up the registration problem for new players........is this all just a Coincidence......not you think we actually get informed about everything.....come on guys, be real.

How hard would it be for someone, besides CA, to host a server for online play???? Does anyone know if there are seperate requirements / software for hosting online games?

They might be working on the registration problem. I hope that's what it is causing this outage.

but they were going to notify Ritchie before they did any more work on the server so he could warn us!

but then we all how reliable EA actually are....

SO, go get the contact addresses and send them an email notifying them the server is broke, again.....

I sincerely hope that Activision knows the meaning of "customer support." They will be pleasently suprised if they take care of their patrons.

As for EA, I hope they get sued into bankruptcy.

Just in time for me to finish up my next custom map-- BACHS_PLAYGROUND

Another big-ass map, only this time w/ lots of puddles/fordable lakes, a few broken walls...much flatter than GAMBIT...should be interesting...

Still no go at 4PM GMT. Looks bad for the weekend. The machine is online because you can ping it, but the server software is obviously not working correctly. Seems like nobody's home.

i got really board so I pulled out my star craft Cd...installed and having a go....What really surprizes me is that the game is so old....and is extremely basic in terms of tactics....and there are thousands of people playing it....and the server is fantastic....

Sometimes I wonder how many people just dont play on line because fu**ing EA are so shit.

They really have missed something big here.

I m sure if games like star craft had shit servers like we do, absolutly nobody would bother playing it online.

It would be great if oneday they actually just explained themselves, are they just incapable ????? if so then GET OUT OF THE FU**ING BUSINESS.

The number of people who don't play Shogun online because of all the problems is probably beyond our grasp. I think the online game could have been huge. The company seems uninterested in this aspect of the game which is also why there is no multiplayer campaign. It's why the online game doesn't work better than it does, and why they can't be bothered getting the server back online. It's why there is no backup server to handle a situation like the present one. It really behooves players not to get hooked on online Shogun because it can be gone in an instant and never return.

Well it's 5:30 PM GMT now. I think you can all hang it up for the weekend and plan on doing something else with your time. Maybe someone at CA/DT/EA will bother to check out the server next week sometime.
