I notice that when people answered my last post (and thanks) that they used information not it that little book that came with the game. I.E. Pride gives extra valor points.. attack/defense/morale numbers on troops and situations that they find themselves in. Where can I find this kind of info.
Also, I am playing the English, (middle period). I noticed that people recommended taking out the French quickly. What is considered quick in this game since it covers so many years?

There may be some guides with this information in, but a lot of it you pick up just by playing the game. For examply a vice/virtue like "pride" has its own explanation.
It is well worth reading frogbeastegg's two guides. Follow this link:

or copy and paste into your browser if I haven't done it properly. The Complete Unit Guide will tell you about the morale of each unit, and the Beginners' Guide will tell you why morale is important. I have never seen a document with all the info about morale in it; I am sure one exists, but I have never felt the need for one having read fbe's guides.
I always play English, and it is good to eliminate the French soon, but you need to spend a little time building up your finances with 20% farm improvements and mines and building spearmen/fyrdmen, archers and holibars. In my current campaign I have just eliminated the French and it is 1122. I am sure that others play differently and eliminate the French earlier/later. I think this is as it should be - the game would be boring if there was only one way to win! Try attacking earlier or later and see which one works for you.
Only played as the English once, but I only eliminated the French quite late in the Game, concentrating instead on creating a sort of Baltic trade empire (norway and Sweden are rebel provinces) and bribing or conquering Navarre (to have an iron-producing province)... Played that way to avoid excommunication problems and everything went smoothly. I'm not saying it is the best way of doing things, but it proves the point Duke of Gloucester made: different to the usual development and it works too...

A very agressive gamestyle is the easiest way to go IMHO, at least if you are capable to beat sometimes superior numbers with good tactical gameplay also on expert. The effective use of units like Urban Militia, Slav Warriors, Jobbagys are key. But it is also sometimes boring as you become to fast a superpower...
I played recently a no-attack Sicily game, were I never attacked a faction, and I only defended and hit back. Build with only bribing a huge tradeempire (Kazhar, Sweden, Norway, Baltic States, Const. etc) and let the rubel roll in ~;)
But you know envy is widespread an the first the Turks, than the Eggies, than the Spain had to attack me ~:mecry:
So the world became a grey place...

Go to the download section of www.totalwar.org and download this little program Yas_units_master_v701 (MTW/VI) It has all the units, their info ( attack, defence, moral etc. ) pictures, upkeep, era, faction....everything you will ever need to know about them. This program has helped me a lot. ~

Yeah, Yas is excellent.
While you're in the download section, check out some of the other files there too. There's a lot of really helpfull stuff to be found there, things that will make you go 'oh, now I get it...'.
Next to Yas, try 'PrintFriendlyUnitData'. All the numbers you need about troops in, well, a print friendly Excel format. I've never played a game without the printout lying on my desk ever since downloading it...
Cheers to all the contributors by the way!! ~

Also, if you read the "New ? Please read this first!" thread on this forum it gives you important information about how morale is affected.

very helpful guides for playing a particular faction are in the Guides section of the forum...Guides (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=47)
You'll find there ideas and suggestions for all factions, all eras, strategy plans, etc.
read my blitz tactics in guides if you want speed.
I think I had the French eliminated as a faction in 1091 with Brittany rebel and the rest of the French lands mine.
I took Brittany in 1095 but only because grabbing Navarre and pegging Aragon was more important.
