Anyone going to get this game? Some of it reminds me of MTW with the time period running from 1066 to 1453 and the map itself, although it includes many more provinces (1005!) and part of the Arabian peninsula and Persia. It also focuses more on characters and making laws and, according to the reviews I've read, it is for hardcore strategists. Could be worth checking out ~ .
Hi Despot of the English ~
Just using your thread as an excuse to post on the new forum ~;)
Haven't played Crusader Kings as it is too strategic and no real battles. Not sure if you have spotted it but there is a large thread in the Arena on the game which FBE is heavily involved in.

There's quite a few CK players over in the arena; the thread is here (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=30755). I wouldn't call it hardcore; if anything it is rather lightweight when compared to EU2 and Vicky. It's a nice game though.
I read a few reviews and i think i will give it a try :jumping:
I have it, but have hardly played it due to one really annoying bug in the game. It doesn't even matter if I turn off all messages to pop up that can be turned off, I still get a "million" messages popping up, slowing down the gameplay a lot and driving me insane! Maybe they've come out with a patch to fix it, I haven't checked the Paradox fora for a while now.
Also the FPS isn't that great, even Thief 3 runs way much better then CK for me.
The game could be very good if at least that one bug gets fixed. It really destroyed the gameplay for me!

Hello and thank you for the link ~ . I can't post there yet though ~:mecry: .
CK looks really good even though I am not a great fan of the rather cartoonish-looking portraits. Is it true that you can be a Bishop with the possibility of being name Pope?
This game is fantastic, i wish MTW had so many provinces. I got it, tried it and played about 3 days in a row, FANTASTIC :jumping:
I miss the battles from MTW though :knight:

I love CK, but the best game would be MTW graphics and battles + CK map and feudal system

I've got to wait until August 27th before I can get my grubby hands on CK ~:mecry: .
How do you choose who to be? I understand you can start as a very minor noble to the Emperor of Byzantium. Is there just one huge list you can pick a noble from or what?
PS Great I'm a member! *dances a jig of joy* :jumping:

Its a great game, wich in all fairness all Paradox games are. Actually what it focuses the most on are marriges ~;)

Shame, Paradox is a small computer company that needs all the money they can get to continue making wonderfull games. ~:pissed: besides if you download it, the version youget will be crap, no paradox games are playable out of the box, you need two-three patches before it gets playable ~

What's the "faction" set-up like?

What do you mean? There are no "factions" as per MTW, there are instead a bunch of playable kingdoms (and one Empire), armies of duchies and a horde of counts. And you play a dynasty rather then a country or faction. It has a complete fuedal system. That is that a king has some dukes (and maybe some counts) that are their vassals, and every duke normally has a couple of counts as their vassals. You get some £$€ from you vassals and if they are loyal enough you can use their troops. Though only christians are playable ~:(

Cheers historycaesar. I'll look into that.
