I play as Italians in about AD 1320. However, today, when I quited my turn and while I was waiting for my next turn, the game automatically crashed to the window (it crashed when all the computers were done with their "thinking")
I don't know what's the problem, please help me if you know the solution.
Well the only solution is to open the most recently saved game. I think the problem you have is quite common with everyone. Once your army is huge and you own a lot of land its seems the game will always crash every 3-4 years. Basically when you own 70 percent of the map and its obvious you will win the game.

lol, I very much wish to own 3/4 of the whole map but I only own two islands and rome, and the rest of the italian peninsula are in the hands of "superpowers" egypt, spain, and the papacy. ~:mecry:
However, the most recently saved game was an auto save file.

I have this same problem constantly. I'm not sure what is going on exactly. But I find that if you move your mouse around alot and keep the game bussy it will not happen.
