I can't find the answers to these questions in the Repository:

Would altering the starting money or adding units cause the GA campaign to crash? Once I do this, would I have to go down the list altering all the factions' incomes or would changing one line make it so for all of them?

Is there a way to get a faction to focus on building and maintaining ports in its provinces and those territories it seizes?

How do I get factions to focus on building better units than peasants?

I'm told that has improved the AI building/training preferences greatly.

You can edit all the starting cash in the campmap/startpos file in your main MTW folder.You can also edit buildings and troop types in all the provinces.Go to the Repository for all the FAQs on how to edit the game.

in the startpos folder, the early.txt, high etc. are for each era.

you can find a section for starting cash

faction X 10000 8000 6000 4000

or something like that to show the faction's starting moola on easy, normal, hard, and expert respectively.

by modding this by hand, you can have your faction start with like 2k and all others with 10k on expert if you need a little more challenge.
