I have played mtw for two months, and so I wanted to try the multiplayer. So I went to gamespy and created an acount. But everytime I try to log on I get the message " INVALID CD-KEY". This I dont understand, because I have bought both the original and the expansion so there should be no problems with the cdkey. Can someone please help me???????????? ~ ~ ~ ~:mecry: ~:mecry: ~:mecry: ~:mecry:

Well first of make sure you are using the correct cd-key. If you start up the Viking Invasion you use the VI cd-key.

When you type in the cd-key make sure to use caps lock and hyphens. (like GH56-09IO etc)

Another point is to watch out and make sure you don't mistake zeros for the letter 'o'. Make sure you've patched to 2.01 (it shouldn't make any difference, but maybe..)
Also try again on another day. It could be that it's just feeling annoying and not letting you in.

I had the problem (now onto another problem, wohoo) and found an obscure post on totalwar.com saying NOT to use caps lock while typing in the CD Key for multiplayer. DO use caps (i.e. G8FJ5, not g8fj5), but don't use Caps Lock on the keyboard.

They said that the Gamespy logon differentiates between numbers typed with caps-lock on and number typed without. It requires the version without...

silly gamespy...
