As I’m sure you know, battle replays were one of the things most in demand by the Total War community. Actually, the game always had a replay function which was used for debugging. Recently, however it has been discovered that this can be made to work in release versions too. It was built as a debug feature, so there are a few drawbacks, but in general it works fine. Here’s what to do:
To Record Battles.
To turn on recording you need to run Shogun from a command line prompt with the command line ER. Each battle that is fought will be recorded to a file in the dumplog folder. Unfortunately, recordings are always saved to the same file name, so each battle that is recorded will overwrite the previous recording.
To Replay a Battle
Start Shogun from the command line with the command line mEP. This will replay the most recently recorded battle. At the end of the battle, all the troops will freeze.
However one very important fact here, is that if you want to swap files to watch each others' battles you need make sure you are running identical versions of STW MI/WE. That will mean the same patches etc. This should also work with Shogun Total War, but this has not been fully tested yet.

Can you write the total comand.
Since my brain is not working that well no more. I completely forgot the comand. I remember that there was more the ER and mEP to write.

Think it was something like this :
"C:\Shogun Total War\ShogunER.exe"
"C:\Shogun Total War\ShogunEP.exe"
...I think ...
(depends on where you've placed STW ofcourse).

Here are the two shortcuts I use to record and playback. My Warlords folder is slightly different from the standard default folder. Recordings/playbacks are saved in the \dumplog folder with the filename replay.dat. Rename that file to prevent a particular recording from being overwritten by the next recording. You can delete the checksum file.
To record make the shortcut target line:
"C:\ProgramFiles\TotalWar\Warlord\ShogunW.exe" ER
To playback make the shortcut target line:
"C:\ProgramFiles\TotalWar\Warlord\ShogunW.exe" mEP

Remember a space before ER and mEP.
I did the above and now have three short cuts to STW/MI. When I run the game through short cut 2 (ER) it won't work. I get no file in dumplog. Also when I try to play a pre recorded battle with short cut 3 (mEP) it just starts the game as normal.

OrdaKhan,
You could try removing the quotes in the target line or moving the end quote to the end of the line. I think some people had to play around with the quotes. Also, my "Start in:" line is the path to the game.
