Maybe it's because my computer sucks, but did of you notice a huge lag when you turn on triple speed (or whatever the highest speed option is)?

I have a
1.6a pentium IV northwood
768 mb DDR pc 2700 ram
geforce fx 5600 ultra

I set the resolution to 800x600 32.

It's so bad that doing the battle on triple speed is just as slow as normal speed. Time to upgrade that CPU?

Was that during the main battle or just chasing off stragglers?
I trebled the speed at the straggler stage and suffered no ill effect.

I have highest settings selected and res is 1280 .. 32

System is

Athlon 2000+
GeForce 4 Ti 4200
512 ddr pc2700

Best bit is ....dx8.... ~;)

It's kind of random for me. When I set triple sometimes it brings a HUGE lag and sometimes it's OK. My system is close to Orda Kahn just 1gb ram and 2500+ CPU.

I get it... but then again, I get it on Medieval and Shogun too :S

mine lags at first, but then the units kinda jump forward faster than they would at normal speeds.

I tried triple speed at the begining of the battle, it was fast but it kinda choked at one point, but everything went fine in a very fast rate, i lost but the enemy sustained heavy damage...

My laptop has a low-end graphics card (not to mention overheating problems: it shuts down randomly if it gets too hot and I can't get it cool enough; the cooling pad or whatever is in there is busted ~:mecry: ). And I tried putting it on "super-awesome-RTS-speed" or 3x speed (the highest you can get) and the lag was so bad it was essentially frozen. Then it shut down.

My graphics card is a Mobility Radeon 7200 32MB.

2.4Ghz (plenty of that)
512MB RAM (should be enough)
Resolution at 1200x400 32 (or something that starts with 1200 and ends with 32).

I need to upgrade (as well as get the craptop fixed)
