I'll upload tomorrow, you as Carthage with your gallic allies against the armies of Rome! I'll try to get the senate allied with the roman Julli, so we can have a nice big battle to enjoy
later on lads

I've uploaded it over at TWC, check it out. If you don't know how to install the mod, you'll need to have downloaded Azmogeddon's (known as Suchoop over at TWC) mod first and check out the instructions near the top of the page:
http://www.totalwarcenter.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=7123&st=20
Once you've done this you should have an idea where to place my file, which you get somewhere on this page:
http://www.totalwarcenter.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=6982&st=400
I expect further changes to be made to this at some point.

All this is great, but not very userfriendly. Can someone make a walk-through how to use the mod?
Thanks

Read the readme! Pretty simple:
1) Unzip Easymod to where you installed the demo
eg C:\Program Files\Activision\Rome - Total War Demo\
2) Run Install Easymod.bat. Download xdelta.exe if instructed at the address provided (also in the readme if you want to copy/paste more easily).
3) To make your own battles, go to Data\world\maps\battle\custom\ and then either newmap for Trebia or newmap_tutorial for the tutorial. Take a look at the descr_battle.txt files and edit to your heart's content. Back up your work regularly, and if you get a crash just go back and try again.
4) To download other people's battles, just save the descr_battle.txt they provide in the appropriate directory (newmap or newmap_tutorial), overwriting the one there (back it up first if you want to keep your current one), then play!

Thanks for the how to, Azmogeddon.
BKB, I'm getting an error, "[location of battle custom here+ name of battle] at line 226, column 2. Script error, not all units have been placed on map"

Download the mod by Az, the link is below and it should help with installing it FBE.

That's what I did; I followed the four steps without any problems. I load the demo up, select Trebia, the armies show up correctly, then when I click on 'begin battle' I get sent back to the main menu. As I exit the demo I get the error message I posted.

You tend to get that error if a unit is typo'd or not all the units have deployment information. However, I've just played BKB's mod and it seemed to work fine. frogbeastegg are you sure you downloaded BKB's mod from that thread he links to and not another one?
Anyway, do try some of the other battles available, or the two which come with the original Easymod pack - mine aren't balanced but should give you enough material to get started yourself.

Azmo, I'm loving your modding device. And can I make it so I can play as Carthage or Gauls? I really don't like the Romans....

It's the mod on the page BKB linked to, from the post by BKB. I tried downloading it again and reinstalling it; same thing happens.
The new version of the tutorial which comes with the Easymod pack works and I've played it twice. While I never managed to get to the battle before it was over I did have some fun marching my mini army around in pretty formations and admiring the graphics in close up. Er, it actually felt more like TW than the official parts of the demo ~:dizzy:
Crashed when I were crossing the river ~:mecry:

Unfortunately crashes seem to be prominent with this new system, but you can get lucky and enjoy a good battle. It probably has something to do with the script or landscape; hopefully Azmogeddon can fill you in. I'm trying to have a look for the problem myself but between that and Medieval modding (gotta finish Super Mod!) its tough to devote enough time to the issue.

I had an awesome battle as Carthage. I lined up on my side of the river, and some romans attempted to cross, but were slaughtered. There were only a few units of Romans on the other side in sight, the rest behind a big hill. I sent in my light infantry, but they were slaughtered. Finnally after advance, fall back, advance, my Gallic allies broke. Finally, with one charge of my unused, 30 armoured elephants, the Romans broke. I hadn't even used any of my cavalry yet! Unfortunatly, the enemies tends to bunch together and not do anything at all. And I can't really get a good field position, since I can only find one spot to wade, and I really hate bridge battles, since I can't use my cavalry to full advantage. But brilliant job to Azmo, and BKB!

I'm in the process of strengthening both Roman factions, but the AI of the Senate seems to really suck. I like to coax my enemies across the river, but they just go straight across and get destroyed! ~:pissed:

Odd... the Romans wouldn't really cross to much in my games.

If you're really interested in improving AI, start looking into this descr_scripts.txt file which I know exists - if you look further down in the ~100kb versions of descr_battle.txt you'll find what I believe is the contents of descr_scripts.txt, just the exact start and end I haven't gotten around to working out. Anyway, it looks like it will be a relatively simple matter to introduce AI orders like - move unit to point x, as was used for the Romans in the original demo Trebia battle.
I've done some updating of the original TWC thread (http://www.totalwarcenter.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=7123), trying to get all the useful information in one place. Worth a read.
