he's not going to register another name,
if you don't unban him he will simply never post here again.

enter THIS into any reputable domain search engine with reverse lookup and the result is the information he posted
the phone number posted is the OFFICE daphne is registered to
the address he posted is the OFFICE location daphne is registered to
ALL FREE DOMAIN INFORMATION
NOT PERSONAL DETAILS
- NOW UN BAN BAROCCA IMMEDIATELY HE HAS BROKEN NO RULES AT ALL

Barocca has NOT been banned, of that i am sure. Maybe he should try to post again. If this just happened about 10 minutes ago, it's probably he was posting something when the forum's we're being worked on.

He was not banned. Yes, I deleted parts of his post and no I'm not sure it was the right thing to do.
Information on how to make bombs is available on the web and is free but that doens't mean you can post it here. I just mention it...
I'm not totally sure I understand the situation. I saw it as Barocca posting personal information (such as his address) of a guy who works for EA. Please explain it in fuller detail to me.

I will go and try to find his account. Tell Barocca not to worry , NOBODY has been banned. Like i stated work has been going on with the UBB board to change things in the forums. At worst it is a technical probem. Tell him to log out of the org and then try to log back in. If he is trying to post in the General discussion forum , it won't work because the tiltle has been changed (for the system the general discussion forum does not exist anymore-can't post in a forum that does not exist)"

in the meantime,

reverse lookup provides information on the registered owner of the IP range or Domain name,
The phone numbers and email details are the people to contact if there is any problem,
ie a user spamming from that IP range.
Sometimes the registered details are not the people who actually maintain the equipement, often this is taken on by third parties.
As is the case with the chatservers we use.
If you follow my instructions above and start digging into the links,
(check them all if you do not understand the shorthand they use and all will become clear)
you will eventually come up with the company who actually maintains the server,
In our case that is Colt Telecommunications!
From there you start following links and see if they lease from another provider - often happens, sometime you have to dig through 3 or 4 levels to get to the root provider!
In our case EA lease access to the Internet from Colt, Colt personnell are listed as maintenance and admin contacts, therefore the servers are maintained by Colt as well.
From previous contacts during server outages EA always talk about they have contacted the people who run the server..blah blah blah...
asumption- EA don't run the server!
If you wish I can provide you with the Email for Colt's webmasters (there are 2 addresses)
(listed as first instance contacts)
I could also provide several direct contacts,
(listed as second instance contacts)
- or you can follow all my instructions and find it all out for yourself.

All right. I think I've come to understand the situation. You have managed to legally get the name of one of the people who run the servers. Well done and congrats. I hope you will contact that person and straighen things out.
Yet,
I do people that information is invasive of a person's privacy. Posting it here is like putting it on a billboard and believe that it is inappropriate to do so. .Org doesn't want to be seen as doing anything to take someone's privacy away.

Glad to see you back Barocca. Just bad timing, you we're probably posting at exactly the same time that i was pushing one of those buttons to change the forum's name.
As for the question at hand, i must insist that all of us refrain posting that type of info.
Shiro is correct when he mentions that we have to be very prudent regarding anything that can have just the APPEARANCE of an invasion of privacy. We have no budget for staff members and even less for lawyers http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/biggrin.gif. He did the right thing for the org by deleting the info.
Furthermore, i do not want to open a Pandora's box here....

Hi guys.
I know this is a rare appearance for me here in the ORG forums, but I feel compelled to post here in light of recent circumstances involving my friend B and Clan Doragon (part of the Gamerz Syndicate Family -- yeah I'm name dropping http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/biggrin.gif).
I must say that what he posted is in no way an infringement of personal privacy especially if it is a "public company".
What I mean to say is that anyone can look up someone's IP address and get a general accounting of the company they use and country they reside in. But it is very rare that a company would provide explicit personal information to the world. It is just not done. Unless you are a moron or have nothing to lose from the public access.
See for yourself. My general IP address is 208.61.123.45 the last two numbers are pretty meaningless, but the first two are needed for specific identification.
Check my number and tell me if you can find out who I am. I live in Miami, Florida, USA. However, if you do a look up it will report Atlanta, Georgia, USA. As a matter of fact one of the services I use reports for about 15 states up and down the Eastern seaboard and West. So you see how vague it really is.
The most commonly used lookup is the WHOis IP reverse lookup. Legal and used most likely on YOU many times buy companies trying to sell you stuff.
Anyway, as always I drag things out. Hope this helps to clear things up a little bit.
I feel that B did nothing wrong and his post was informative. He is actively trying to support the community by researching all avenues and exploring all possibilities in order to rectify this ongoing disaster of a situation created by people who could care less about OUR online enjoyment, not to mention that we paid for it.

Though you may be joking - you are being completely unfair. I would like nothing better than to have the server and registration fixed. I love this game too!!!
However, I really don't think it's fair to post someone's address no matter how the information was gotten.
You all know how to get the information anyway or so it seems. I am wating for a response to puzz's email and I hope he will make the message public.
