Virtually at the beggining of the game, playing with takeda i made a pretty sketchy move into Mori's territory, unfortunately this ended in the crushing of my defending armies for Bingo and Bitchu...oh dear! However out of the ground came a revolt...but not just any revolt, this one had cav. archers and 2 units of archers all honour 3! Not only this but i soon discovered that the general of this army was rank 5...higher than my daimyo himself and equal to Shingen!!!! Rock on!!!!

was the revolt for you or for rebels ?
If you can't beat him then bribe him (if you have the koku).
I still prefer to bribe those high rank rebel general like that, especially when their troops are good. Don't have to fight hard to capture the province plus get a good commander to use (very important in the early stage battles).

The revolt was for me, i got to control the army with the lv.5 general and honour 3 troops! No bribes or anything!

The assassin of night is a dangerous foe, however, the assassin of day is most fear-inspiring and dangerous foe from life and battlefield alike.
nicley, that happened to me once but it was at the end so it did not make much of a difference to my standings.
does anyone know how hounour and types of units of revolts are calculated, is it completley random of does it depend on the province?
