have u ever destroyed a clan and then a heir that escaped and revolted

i am in the process of taking over japan.i now own about half if not more of the map.i am using the tekeda and have takin control of all the mori's original land and have everything from totomi up and over to the east.i am in the 62 year and the shimazu clan (my secound favorite)has been eliminated 3 times now.it seems that they always have a hier that escapes.well now im in the middle of taking there land over,i already have gottin 4 provinces from them. anywho has this ever happened to u when a clan has come back from elimination 3 times,by the way this third time,they have become quite powerful except i assasinated the diamyo with a geisa.i am waiting for a 4th return.has this happened to u.

alsoif your clan dies can one of your hiers escape or is it another one of those ai qualites.

I am afraid that that's just the previledge of the AI clans.

Basically if an AI clan is eliminated before it runs out of its list of heirs, then at about the time the next heir matures, he may revolt and resurrect the dead clan.

However, the revolting province must be owned by the the resurrected clan before. Otherwise this won't happen.

For me, I think this does add an interesting twist to the game play. However, while the reborn clan might really hurt you (especially if lead by someone such as Tokugawa Ieyasu), its chance of thriving is dim. Usually when you are this far into the game, the AI can neither grab provinces fast enough to field its army, nor improve the training facilities fast enough to replenish its war attrition.

actully the last time they revolted they conquerd alot they took over about 11 provinces some of who belonged to the fairly established mori AND imagawa

That feature sucks. Destroy my campaign.

I had 3/4 of Japan and Uesugi re-appeared and guess what? I was working hard to maintain loyalty above 150% on all provinces but then ALL my provinces were gone! Gosh! And about 40 armies to beat.

Quite impossible since I hadn't building facilities where the revolt didnt happen.

The lost clan can be resurrected if a revolt occurs in their start province.

It has never occured in my provinces (because of low tax rate, shinobies and a small garrison force). I did intentionally try to resurrect a lost clan by sending some shinobies into the start province of the lost clan.

It doesn't have to be the clans starting province. This weekend, I sent five shinobi into Yamashiro province, which was controled by the Shimazu clan. They caused a couple of rebellions. Then, the Mori clan reappeared there. The Mori were the first to reach Yamashiro, however, before the Shimzu eliminated them.

I think the worst is when you get down to about 2 or 3 clans left, including your own, with most of the land belonging to rebels and ronin, and then one of the clans reappears and takes over all the rebel provinces and controls like 55% of japan. They quickly tried to ally themselves w/me, so I think they were scared http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/wink.gif

I get it a lot but they ussually only take one or 2 provinces and rarely have a large enough army to threaten me or the other clans...
