Wow.

I know I'm a bit late on this one, but I've been in the middle of a campaign on MTW and didnt want to ruin it by playing RTW ~;)

I've just played the demo and WOW! I thought, just for a laugh, I'd see what setting it will run at and it runs sweeeeeet at 2048x1538x32 !!!!! I don't need FSAA at that resolution and just max every detail possible. Man, it looks good! MTW chugs like a chugging chugger at that res, how the hell did they make this one soooo much nicer and yet faster than the last one? Top marks to the developers! ~:smoking:

Needless to say, I've just pre-ordered it from play.com - looking forward to receiving it on the 1st October ~D

The boys at the local dixons were playing the demo on a projection screen (HUGE screen, kicks the @ss out of a plasma any day, and for a fraction of the cost)

I bet it'll be postponed again, they formerly predicted its release on Sept 24. They don't have a clue when it's out.

I've got it pre-ordered on Play which originally quoted release as 10th Spetember.

I'm impressed with the speed too. I couldn't detect slow down with max detail on 1600*1200 and my machine's quite average. I've seen it on a decent laptop though, higher specs than my pc, and it was a bit jerky, is this something to do with laptop graphics cards?

No idea but even though I have high specs (amd 2500+, ati radeon 9800 pro, 1MB ram) my game isn't really what we call smooth, the same happen to me in MTW. Not really low fps, but definitely not smooth...

I hope you mean 1Gb of RAM ~;)

You've got the same specs as me and it runs well smooth at max settings. Mebbe you got "issues" ~:lightbulb:

2048x1538x32, no AA, everything else on max. It runs lovely. Of course, you need a good monitor to display those kind of resolutions at a good refresh rate. I'm fortunate enough to have an Iiyama 454 Pro which does 2048x1538 @85Hz ~D

:) same here, unfortunatly i've had 2 go bang (and i mean bang) on me in less than 2 years, giving their warranty department a call early next week. Lovely monitor when it works.

Unfortunatly its put my home pc out of action until Iiyama cough up a new one so no RTW demo for me ~:mecry:

Of course, but you understood me anyway ~D
In fact I have very good fps, but it's when I move the camera (either just rotate or move forward) it becomes jerky, otherwise I can set to high everything and my fps won't collapse.

I think that's just the nature of a huge scene rendered in frames. There's no motion blurring so your eye can detect anything below 50 fps and will register it as a flicker. In order to get a proper, smooth appearance when scrolling across the map you'd have to have V-Sync on and be running at over 100fps/100Hz.

I'll try it, thanks for your help maestro, even though it wouldn't work.
