Why is it, that half the time I come to these forums, I hear a completely random, loud burst of heavy metal music :drummer: :rifle: . I am not completely off, I do listen to music regularly, but this is just annoying.
Does this happen to anyone else? If it doesn't then maybe it's just adware.
hehe... I'd say you need to switch your neighbour's musical tastes... tell them to get some Moody Blues going. But that's just me. ~D

like I made clear before- :drummer: :rifle: . What I meant was that this happens on the vb guild boards, nowhere else. It comes out of the computer, not my neighbours btw.

It keeps happening to me to. All we need is a mod or admin and we'll all be chugging down a clod one without metal playing in the background. :medievalcheers:

Another thing that I'm wondering: Does this only happen to junior patrons?

Yeah, I got that once or twice. It comes from the advert at the very bottom of the screen - theres a mute button on it.

Same thing happent to me. I was trying to see if media player was on or if any other page was open and was playing the tune but the only thing on was the .org
My first idea was a medal hacker invaded my PC. Anyway if they want to keep the metal on, they should put some quality metal :)

I honestly have no idea what you are talking about. If its from an ad, your problem comes from using internet explorer, most likely.

If you don't know what it is, that's just because it hasn't happened to you.
The provider has placed space for ads on the bottom of the screen, and one of those ads is one from HP that emits loud rock music. But not everyone is notices it: presumable a lot of the patrons use anti-ad software. Also, you don't notice it if you have your boxes turned off ~:) .
I have stopped playing music on my PC when visiting the Org, because the HP-ad makes so much noice that I can hardly hear the CD playing.

Hehe, apparantly its coming from the ad at the bottom of the screen, I just noticed a "speaker" icon on it. I can't hear it because I do not have the flash plugin with Opera, which is my default web browser.

It's real alright. Freaked me out the first time. Yep, it's the Ipod. It has happened a couple of times since. Sucks when the house is quite and the toddler's asleep...and this thing comes blasting out on a message board. ~:pissed:

Of course you might also consider kicking out Microsoft's Explorer and replace it by the fantastic Mozilla Firefox (it has a very well-working ad-blocker and pop-up stopper).
So, no annoying blasting music for me.

Yeah, but in the long run that doesn't work.
I don't wanna have to keep on pressing mute every time, it drives me nuts.
Sound in forums is a top annoyance, they are in the adds and staff, including me, are 'enjoying' it too.
