I own STW but today I saw WE in the comp store for real cheap, is it worth getting it even though I already own STW?

Keep in mind I just found myself hooked on this game about amonth ago when I first tried the MTW demo. I ran out and bought STW at EB so I am still new to the genre.

Warlord's Edition is the full version of the Mongol Invasion. Mongol Invasion is just an add-on to the original Shogun:Total War which turns it into Warlords.

WE has much more to ofter than STW. So even though it's called an add-on, it feels like STW2 to most players.

Faster building speed, more depth in the tech tree, and more units to play with. Not to mention the ability to train/update units (meaning that you can, say recruit honor 3 monks in Kaga, then send them to a province with armory to give them legendary armor).

Plus there are many more full campaign scenarios, both those came with WE and those made by the mods here.

SWEET, thanks for the answers, I may just pick that up since the price is right and I have not see the mongol invasion pack in stores at all.

Thanks again. (plus maybe I can actually connect to the EA server and let you guys school me http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/wink.gif )

IMO STW is the better of the two, but I am a minority around here I guess. I think that the slower gamespeed and slower kill rate makes for a more strategic game.

Having said that the STW server has been down a while... but bear in mind that Medieval Total War is out soon, so it might be worth saving your money. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif

How do you train/update units?

So it is possible to resupply units without having them lose honor?

LOL, this question has been asked so many times that I made a request to the moderator who kindly put our discussion into the strategy archive.

Also, make sure you read other articles in the archives. Those are invaluable tips.

The difference is that those greasy, smelly Mongols now have their own bonafide units, and no longer must resort to parading a sweaty, disgruntled mascot around to make people stand up and take notice.

You owe it to yourself... give in to the power of the WE/MI side...

GAH!

Vanya was referring to the units, not the players...

If my opinion counts m8, It all depends on what you intend to do when MTW comes out.

If you are going to buy MTW then WE/MI would be a waste of money, and as its only 7 days away in the US and 14 days away in the UK how much would u play it ?
