Konnichiwa,

You only have to run the fakeserver in the background.

My server isn't run on a spare system, every now and then I need my computer for other stuff. It was up for some 32 hours non stop (it's good to have DSL :-).

Tosa server is up right now, and will run this week-end.

Just realised that you can logon with whateve r name onto the fakeserver. No authentication is done. Even a fake cd-key will do.

I hope this will not have any serious implication.

Yuuki figured that out a few days ago aswell Tootee.

All you need is a family name and you can chose whatever name you want. We even have the luxury of being able to use spaces... http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif

There might be implication in the sense that the use of a random number for cd-key, one can logon online for games.. you get where I'm going? Not that I care, just dont want RSW, Tosa and rest get implicated in anyway "unlawful" unintentionally. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/eek.gif

assumption is if you use the server then you have a legal copy of game,

if you don't have a legal copy of game then you don't use the server,

if you break the law - well thats between you and your concience,

we aren't the piracy police!

We all own legal copies of the game. I own 5 copies of Shogun. EA are the ones in default by not bringing the STW and WE/MI servers back up, and I'm certain they could if they wanted to. The game is still being sold and EA is still in business and their Shogun servers are supposed to be up and running.
