View Full Version : Replayability advice?

I've been playing this wonderful game since mid-Dec (thanks MQ). I am sure that this is a question that has been beaten to death in the forum, so forgive me for raising it up again.

In playing through the Full Campaign, I am wondering what do you do to make it fun in replaying a new Full Campaign? It doesn't appear that choosing a different clan makes that much of a gameplay difference besides starting off in a new location. So what's the advice that has been given regarding replayability? BTW, I know the Warlords exp pack will offer custom maps and that will take care of replayability, so the question is on this current version.
Thanks,
Steve

Try going christian for a start, that'll definitely add a twist.

Then there is the Multi-player world http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif It'll make you fall in love with the game all over again!

Christian is really fun though you should do it with Shimazu. Multiplayer however is just amazing. That will hook you till May at least.

Yeah, I noticed that too. I think it must be that our Sister City is Nagoya (or something like that). http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif

Can't let you Birkenstock wearin, heart on your sleeve liberal types up in Boulder get any ideas there Soly! http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/tongue.gif

Welcome Buccaneer, I'm sure your name will make Ship a happy camper (assuming of course you're a Tampa fan!). If you really want to give yourself a challenge, play Ironman. Choose Imagawa as your clan, go christian at the first opportunity, no reloads and no less than hard setting. Oh BTW, that means no monks and no Dutch! bwahahahahaha

One more thing; listen to what everyone else is saying and get online! You may never go back to the SP campaign (I'm still working on a Takeda campaign I started 3 months ago).

I would go to the custom battle most of the time and just make up a battle scene and make up a story to go with it like " after days of fighting and half of my army wipe out, I stood at Bungo for the final battle with the Hojo clan "

Something like that...

For a real challenge try something like my 'Path of Peace' Campaign.

In this campaign you are not allowed to start a war with anyone and can only attack rebel held provinces.

The trick being to ally yourself with everyone and while smiling sweetly at them using Ninja and Shinobi to spread murder and subversion throughout there lands.

When Allied Diamyo's die you inheret some of their land and invade any that go rebel. Otherwise you subvert any lands which are poorly garrisoned causing revolts to make them rebel before invading them.

If another clan declares war on you you may defend your own borders but may not invade theirs and must make peace as soon as possible.

I have completed one campaign using these rules the last allied diamyo being killed by a geisha.
