View Full Version : Arg I've been Ripped!
Well yep I've been (knowingly) ripped, found Shogun warlord edition for 5$ at a garage sale version 1. I uncompressed it installed it and ran the game, as many of you did i fell inlove instantly however now when i have some heavy cav and naginata cav I cant train them the game just closes out when i put my mouse over the unit I want to build in a certain province.
My Question(s):
Has this happend to anyone? (with the retail verision...damn garage sale bargains)
Any way to fix it? (im thinking maybe some sort of hot or quick keys so that i dont have to use my mouse which seems to be the problem)
Should I update or will it cease to run?
Thanks in advance.
I Dont know if i should I think that a patch my inflict with the game runin without a CD and then i wont be able to play. Anyone Knows anything?

I had the same problem. Legit version too. With some comps, STW just doesn't like it. I think it has something to do with graphics cards. Its actually the newer computers that it stuffs up on, older ones can run it fine. My 3 gig Pentium processor Radeon 9600 pro 1 gig RAM machine cannot run it, I get three turns into the game and it crashes. My 1 gig processor 256 MB RAM 16MB Video card laptop runs it fine. What are your system specs? I would say this is the problem.
2.4 gig pentium 4 500mb ram onboard Intel graphics (its crap) I run in software mode it doesn't load battles in hardware.
Thanks. ~:mecry: I hate it when things dont work!
Ive Updated to version 1.02b and found a no-cd crack(luckly) and everything works fine thanks for the help, BTW whats the last version of STWWE? And is there anyway to remove an un-needed or incorrect patch (accidently installed the v.1.11 of regular STW)
Thanks

AFAIK 1.02b is the latest version.
To ensure you'e got everything up to date, this should work (but I haven't tried it myself, so please use at your own risk):
1. Take a copy of the savegames folder.
2. Uninstall
3. Reinstall, including the patch.
4. Copy in the saved savegames folder.
But if everything is working already, perhaps it is better to let it be?
