I had a look around for a topic on this, but I didn't turn anything up.
Anyway, I was reading through the Res Romanae, as you do, and I found this:
10th August: In Rome: Total War it's possible for a victorious army to pursue its beaten foes and fight them all over again. As long as an army keeps winning it can keep advancing, providing it hasn't taken too many casualties or run out o movement allowance.
This sounds like a really nice feature. Presumably you'll be able to march off and fight a different army if you've wiped out the one you fought first. A bit like King Harold in 1066, really. Although getting shot in the eye at the end would be a bit of a downer.
