The Romans sure could build things to last. Does the bridge still serve as a bridge in some capacity (pedestrian, bicycle, car?) or is it simply a place to visit now?

Yes, it is used now days by all kind of light traffic including cars. The bridge isn't in a forest ( which someone could think viewing the photo) it's in the town in the jewish district that is from medieval time.

Since the bridge is a piece of ancient history, is there some form of historical group or government agency that oversees the wellbeing of the bridge, especially since it is still in use? It is amazing that the bridge is still functional but it would be a real shame to lose such a structure to modern day wear and tear.

I have uploaded a new bridge image, it is take at Madrigal de la Vera it's a town near the previous one.

It isn't used now days by traffic but you can cross it walking. In summer, when the river has more watter than showed in the photo, people jumps from the top to the watter.

I've to jump on rocks in the middle of water to take the photo. ~:)

Some of the tows in the region are declared "historic interest", they have restrictions to build some kind of new buildings and the government spends money to recover the historic patrimony.

Herbas ( first photo ) isn't declared "historic interest" (I am not sure) so the only government that controls the monuments health is the town house. But, every year, these small towns have better control of their monuments because tourism is (almost) the only way to live there now days.

Excuse my poor english ~;)
