Try turning off everything on your machine except explorer and systray, so that no other program interferes with your installation. Alternatively (to achieve the same 'nothing loaded' effect), reboot and press F8 to go into safe mode. Then install.
If that doesn't work, report back here, and we'll move your query over to the tech forum.

Have you had MTW on your system before, if you did, and didnt un-install right you will probably need to do this...
Most likely it didnt get delted from your registry, I've had this problem...
Open "My computer/C-drive/Program files/"Install shield"
You should see something like {12412-124124-124128512-}
Delete them, and then re-try to install it should work...
The problem would be that its not *really* on your computer, but your computer has the registry saying its there.
Try it..:)

Do NOT do this, unless you're absolutely sure about it

The directories Medieval Assassin is refering to (below C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information) contain the uninstall programs for applications installed via InstallShield. Only one of them is for MTW - and I do not know which one it is. If you delete any of the others, then you will have problems uninstalling the associated applications.
By the way, you can often remove scratches on a CD/DVD my rubbing it gently with a soft cloth and a bit of toothpaste. Wipe in an outward motion, not circular. The abrasive in the toothpaste will remove any minor scratches. Now you know why your teeth are so shiny white. ~D

I recommend that check for viruses in first place.
One question: your computer is fully functional? or you have other problems?
Like: tilts, unexpected resets, critical errors... the games no working good,
if this is your problem, then you probably have a bad RAM module, try to change it
What operating system have you?
If winXP, tray update this to service packs 1 and 2, and if you have a broadband connection, update this with Windows Update.
try to install another program with install shield, like Adobe Acrobat Reader.
if this no work, then try the previusly writed.
check the services actives with windows and finish them if appears suspicions.
if you have any other cuestion, writeme :commodorec64@hotmail.com
i work fixing computers.
