You know how in BFME they say a "new" innovation is emotion well, we got it.
If you haven't noticed, but if your fresh Triarii attack some enemy triarii, and your troops are still fresh and full of energy by the end of it, they will cheer and celebrate.
Have you noticed this as well?

yeah I loved it when I noticed that - I woudln't call it emotion though but perhaps the creaters of BFME think they can call it a new innovation because they've put a little moee effort into developing it further?

BFME unit emotions are just another way of saying it has a morale system. To say that they innovated the RTS style they taked on rage and self preservation to a MTW style morale system and called it unit emotion. Not that I'm complaining unit morale is a good thing the other RTS games I've seen it in it just made them better. Those other games being American Conquest: Fight Back, and Warhammer 40k: Dawn of war.

I thought it looked quite good in the videos... A sense of self persevation or a morale system, while old hat in specialist RTS like MTW and Close Combat, is a new thing to the popular RTS concept (i.e C&C)... And I think it appears well done. The units show apprehension in approching feared enemies, not just after their moral meter hits a certain level....
