ill the defender be able to use those as defence too, inside a city?
not necessarly to set them up the wall (à la Lord of the Rings), but example a catapult swinging flaming greek fire towards the mass outside?
what about burining oil and stuff?
What defines the numbers of catapults/ siege / balista's towers etc the defender/attacker can wield?
I've seen onagers deployed behind a wall in a video somewhere. May have been the 16 min one that came on my pre-order disc. Don't know about boiling oil though I would assume it's in as you can do it in VI.
According to one of the previews you can deploy units on a wall! But if the attacker digs under your walls and they collapse, or they bombard them with big lumps of rock then you'll lose all the men innit :)

I doubt that siege weapons will be deployable on the walls, but they should be deployable behind the walls or close by outside of them! (you could in MTW remember)

You should read the review at TWC... Sibs said that city battles are very common in RTW.

And of course RTW uses the same AI engine as MTW :inquisitive:
You nut.
Read some reviews - better still buy the game - then come back when you've got something constructive to post.

According to reviews and footage, you have to build some of them when you attack a siege, at least some of the weapons (like ladders, sapping tunnels, siege towers and presumably also battering rams) and some of them (ornagers and other long range artillery) will be have to build in advance (but these have a function in all battles, not just sieges. ladders are pretty useless unless you are besieging a town ~;p )
