Finally, today's IS the day, for us Americans anyway. I told my mom to pick it up at work. so what about everyone else. :charge: :charge:

I have to wait until October 1st. Then two more days for the post. Ah well, Amazon saved me £15, so I don't mind the wait. Got it for £25 ($50US, I believe). Bargain! Games at HMV cost about £40 ($80US?).

Just called 3 gamestops and 2 EBs...

Every store except one said tomorrow...but one of the gamestops the guy was nice enough to tell me they are getting a shipment at 1-2pm and to call back then.

2pm now, called and they did not get it yet but said for sure tomorrow. Going to try a few other stores before I give up for today.

Hopefully, the copies you get won't be all f$cked up. This is soooo GD frustrating and the fact that CA has NOT done shit for its customers. All I've done so far is do everything everyone else has told me but not ONCE has CA come onto their own f$%King forum at .com to help out. What the hell has happened to this company?!?!? I've tried copying it to my har drive (but it won't copy over the sndsOne.cab file), I've tried switching from a cdrom dvd to a regular cdrom, but it won't install voice1.dat. I've tried burning the CD but again it fails to copy sndsOne.cab. All my drivers are updated and everything. Activision, which CA is becoming more like with its "customer service", told me to take the game and switch it out with another copy. Yipee, even though if you look at the .com and everyone on there has already tired that. FU CA!!!

I just got the game today at Best Buy, and I'll be installing it in a minute. I'll come back when I have something to tell about here...

This is the first time in my life I've ever hunted a game to ground, and I'm 45 and been playing since PCs came out. I must have 200 boxes stacked up around here.

On Tuesday I stopped at the BestBuy (in Atlanta) that's conveniently on my commute home. Double-checked that it wasn't on the shelves, then asked a clerk to check their records - they said it should be there tomorrow, no surprise, since Wednesday was the scheduled release. Everything's going good, eh?

Next day, I stop off there on the way home. No RTW. The clerk checks the records and says "well it'll be coming to us today, probably later tonight". Effectively, after they close. So much for precise records. I went to a Media Play nearby. Also out of luck. Went home deflated.

Thursday I pull out the stops. I call the convenient Best Buy. Guess what, their phone system is out of whack and you can't talk to anyone there. So I called another one in town. They checked records and said my preferred store didn't have it, but another one near where I work did. I went there during lunch and got it.

I guess you have to love MTW a lot to appreciate the drama in all this ~D

Yeah, I stalked them at the Best Buy here, calling 3 times Wed. and Thursday each, then going in and bothering them in person after I got off work. On Friday I just knew that they had to have it. I looked around in the store after work and - of course - it wasn't even out of the shipping boxes yet - but I KNEW it was there somewhere so I had a worker go check the back. It wsa there and he managed to sneak me one without the tag on it yet.
They don't put the stuf fon the shelves until a day or even TWO after they get it!!! Bah!
Well, I'm happy now.
I bought a new video card - cheap ($75) but fast - Gigabyte Radeon 9550 128mb RAM - to replace the old Radeon 7500 64mb I had because the Demo and some other games I have now were running retarded.
It rolls along very well now.
I'm happy happy now.
I played the game for 6 hours last night and can tell that this is the game I'll be playing for the next year or two at least.

Thank You Creative Assembly!!!! (note to Activision - use Fed Ex Overnight Priority to ship the games to the dealers - sure it'll cost a fortune - but by god we'll all be happy then ;) )

sorry to hear that. it must be fustrating . But it installed and run perfect for me and i got a shitty PC :sweatdrop:
