Admittedly, “You’ve grown so, haven’t you?” is silly; but it becomes sensible conversation if you answer, “Yes, I’m nearly two inches taller than I was last year.”

I like what the author considers to be "sensible conversation" :inquisitive:

The "Art of Kissing" is also most helpful ~D

Oh Lord, sounds like my childhod.

I'm the youngest of eight kids and when we were out at a restaurant, people would come over to our table all the time and tell my father that they were astonished that his eight kids were so polite and well manered.

Then again, my old man was 6'2", a former soldier and CFL football player (1953). He had the size and authority to deal with eight kids.

In our house there was truly only one rule: respect your mother. Rob a bank if you wish, set fire to the church, smoke dope in class, anything. But disrespect your mother and death shall follow as certain as night follows day.

And a damn good rule it was!
