Has anyone else seen this?

After I fought a decisive battle against the Carthaginians in western Sicily, a small crossed-swords symbol was present on the campaign map where the battle took place. When I placed the cursor over it, it said, "Site of famous battle," and listed the winning and losing commanders from the battle and their respective factions.

I just thought this was a really cool little feature.

That is just too cool Sisco. I've had the game since Thursday and have only managed time to play 20 minutes of the "Sons of Mars" campaign. Things aren't looking any better until Monday as far as my schedule, but I'd better get busy with RTW before you guys find all the great features (big and small) of the game.

Yeah I've only gotten one of those so far, lots of small battles, only one really large battle. It's an awesome little feature and it's things like that which make the game that much more addicting. SO good!

I already got two of those ~D. I conquered 3 gaul settlements + 1 rebel. I'm currently about to storm the 4th gaul town! It is currently 261 (lots of time left for the Julii to go on a rampage.

I've found this also occurs for big naval battles. I was blockading Carthage when by large fleet was attacked by a massive carthaginian one, and the blockade was thereby lifted. A "famous battle" symbol is now present in the water just outside of Carthage's port. This tells us two things: 1) sea battles can be counted as "famous battles," and (2) famous battles can be reminders of our greatest foibles as well as our greatest successes. :embarassed:
