Back in Shogun and Medieval, it paid to be a bit choosy about where you placed farms. Not all provinces were agricultural equals. However, I can't seem to find where that kind of information (if it's still relevant) hides in the new interface. Should I just drop farms anywhere, or are some provinces still better than others for farming?

Well for sure some provinces have more "High Fertility" land but as far as a stat breakdown of the entire province I can't find that either. Obviously Nile Detla would be a great province but again where is the stat breakdown?

Go the city screen. There is a button on the bottom left that says settlement details. Click it and you'll see farm income in the right. It's harder now to compare, though.

i figured this out.

ON the S. details screen, any building you plan to build will cause ghosted out icons to appear. For example, you might normally have 3-4 grain icons for farm income on the income row, and when you place a farm upgrade in the queue, a ghosted out farm icon will appear next to the existing ones.

If you mouse over the existing icons, you'll get current farm income. If you mouse over the ghosted out one, you'll get income with the upgrade.

The same is true for order and pop growth, although instead of giving you a total the ghosted out icon will give you the ADDITION caused by the upgrade.

PS for waht it's worth, I still say farming is a terrible deal (save a few extremely high farm provinces, e.g. venetia) moneywise. But since each level grants 0.5% in pop growth, great to get them just so you can get to the next city level faster.
