Campaign Question

While playing Hojo on expert I managed to eliminate Uesugi but it took me 13 years because of some bad harvests and defeats in
Echigo.Fortunately Takeda,Imagawa,Oda,and Mori were busy fighting each other.I made alliances with all of them including Shimazu.
In year 15 of the campaign Oda was killed in battle,by Mori I think,and he didn't have any heirs.All his provinces and armies went to Takeda,the dog must have made an alliance with Oda too.I didn't receive any of Oda's provinces or armies even though I was an ally
also!!!What a crock of s#*t,the last thing I needed was Takeda to get this windfall.Did anyone else ever have this happen? http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/confused.gif

This is fairly common. If you would have had the oldest pact with him then you would have gotten that winfall. A very good reason why your emissaries should get out quickly and to clans that you are unlikely to go to war with.

It seems on expert level that Daimyo's,even Shimazu,are more difficult to make alliances with.They all hemmed and hawed the first year
and before I could make one alliance my emissary was killed;probably Imagawa's ninja,the rat HAHA!It took me several seasons
to train another emissary,too busy training warriors.Oh well,guess I'll have to deal with a Takeda horde. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/eek.gif
