I wanted to bet the crap out of this guy for wanting my 20 year old daughter. Not only was his age useless for my empire he only had 1 management skill point and at that age if you do'nt have management skill you are'nt going to get them.

I let a 34 year old general marry a 13 year old daughter in my family. He's a decent fellow and a good general to boot so what's the fuss? ~;p

FYI, in the modern world December-May marriages are not as uncommon as you think, especially outside the western world. In the ancient world an older man marrying a much younger woman was fairly common and nothing to go bats--t about. Back then it was extremely common for people to get married when they were in their mid teens.

That's nothing...

Fatma Sultan, daughter of Sultan Ibrahim (r. 1640-1646), became the wife of the second vizier Yusuf Pasa when she was three years old (child marriages were not uncommon in the Ottoman empire during this period). A year later, the vizier was killed on the Sultan's orders, making Fatma a widow at the age of four. That very same year, she married again, this time to Admiral Fazil Pasa. After the lavish wedding but before their union was consummated, her husband was sent to a mission abroad, never to return. Twelve years later Fazil Pasa died, making her a second-time widow at the age of sixteen. Fatma wisely decided never to marry again.

Gameplay wise, I wouldn't do that. Most generals start with nothing anyway, so my main criterion for adoption is age. If it isn't too high, I'd take the first guy who proposed. My problem is quantity, not quality and the sooner I get somebody so they can start producing heirs, the better. Granted, however, that the guy still has some years to produce heirs before dying. Family members are at a big premium in this game and I'm not sure if it is possible for daughters to remarry.
