View Full Version : Could someone offer some advice?
I'm trying to add some tradable goods to a region within VI, could someone tell me how? I'm using XL's mod and want to give the Scots faction 1 or 2 goods to trade (probably Wood, Hides) but when I add then to the Campmap/Startpos/EarlyXL,HighXl or Late Xl text files I can't plpay the mod.
I tried posting this query in the Alchemist thread but couldn't.
Thanks for any help anyone can offer!
I'm at work, so I can't give you specifics here.
I'm assuming you know how to mod the game somewhat. And that you have a backup of the original startpos-file to use these tips on.
1) Copy and paste a line with another regions tradable resources - maybe wessex. If you find one with the exact goods you want to trade you eliminate step 3 below.
2) Change the provincename from ID_WESSEX to ID_SCOTLAND
3) Change the goods to the ones you want. Make sure to spell the goods exactly right. I usually make 2 tabs between entries and that works fine.
And you're set. I'd advice you to not make any more changes, to make sure these work.

Surely you mean Bells whiskey and shortbread biscuits :hide:I'd go for Tullamore Dew in Ireland. Chip in some stew and you're ready to conquer the world. :charge:
D'you know that's exactly what I was thinking too. I was gonna put whisky but I wasn't sure if it was an allowed item?
Just went with wool and wood anyway.
Cheers for the help folks!
