Adding personel to Daimyo\'s unit

I am new with Shogun Total War.

I am playing the campaign, and my Daimyo has only 11 men left. This is not good. How can I add personel to his unit? I tried to combine it with any other units, the info box tells me that the unit is Hatamoto. How can I train Hatamoto?

The Daymio always has 11 men, unles some are killed in battle, however once you return to the strat map, his unit will be newly equipped so that it's once again 11 men strong.

It's in the manual btw.

Thanks for the info. I don't have manual. The game came without manual. A card is included, saying that I can buy the manual seperately for $5. Is that worth it?

Nope...

if you've bought the game legal, there should be a .PDF file on the cd with the manual and some historical info.
