I have problem producing enough heirs for my Scipii campaign. I run out of family members to lead armies and admininster cities after conquering Africa. So is this any way for them to make more sons?

If you've got the cash then bribing some from a rival faction or rebels is always good.

I second the bribing motion. Find some faction that's down on its luck and has some small, remnant armies that don't cost much to bribe.

You have to bribe a family member, though.

You can also (hope to) get some captains that are leading armies to win battles and (possibly) gain enough notice that they'll be available for adoption into your family.

I had the same problem in my campaign... I was a complete stop at second generation and i had problem maintaining my cities because all the first generation started dying by natural causes. So i figured since i was out fighting all the time with 2G heirs they didn't have time to meet their wifes because of all the wars. So i swapped and had my 2G heirs maintaining my citites and 1G doing the fighting. After a while the 3G heirs came out.

Now i do not know it this is just coincidence or something very cleverly thought out by CA.

Just have a gay son ...... He'll start adopting generals like crazy!!! I've had plenty of adoptions but this one guy went overboard 30 years old no wife and is wanting to adopt generals right and left. Maybe I should throw a spy on him and reveal his secret vice, but it was probbly only medieval you could do that with

Yep, go for adoption. The way I get new heirs is to send tailor made armies without family members out to attack nearby small enemy armies or brigands. This often gets them two stars. Later I get asked if I want to adopt them. I'm not sure how frequently it works normally, but lately it has been working a lot.

is there an upper limit of the number of family members you're allowed to have ?

As an aside you can see why they don't allow the player to arrange marriges any more...

Someone who marries one of your daughters becomes part of your family/faction... But when a male member of your family/faction gets married they stay in you faction.....

How could you possibly reconcile that with inter-faction marrige?!?!?!
