View Full Version : How do I choose which units the daimyo\'s heirs will be in?

They keep getting placed in units where they get killed off and then my daimyo has no heirs and then all my conquests are for naught when he dies of old age.

When your heir comes of age, he leads the very next unit you build. I think if you build multiple units in that turn, he takes lead of the left-most built.

i allways got the feeling that the heirs were the unit built closest to your capitol province. at any rate, watching for when your heirs are about to come of age, make sure you are building only the unit you want him to be.

This game requires so much attention to detail if you want to make it all the way to Shogun; if you don't carefully put your heirs aside in safety, you can win half of Japan, be on the verge of total victory and then have your Lord Hojo or Lord Oda die of old age and find that all your heirs have been casually slaughtered because you had them in Yari Ashigaru regiments.

True - heirs especially need great attention.

Another thing is having two generals in an army. You get your best general as taisho, but all others just lead single units, and are easily killed.

So what is a taisho? The one with the red umbrella for ensign?

General = Taisho

You are right, he is the guy with the "red umberella" in one case. But there are lots of other banners the Taisho may have.

The fish is common online, as well as the skull. There are poles and other wierd icons too.
