The in game dialogs refer to mining income, the printed Roman tech tree shows mines, but the strategy guide doesn't mention them at all and I cannot find them using the building browser while playing the Julii. Was mining left out of the game?

There are iron deposits within the starting province as well as marble; that's another good question: what resources are mineable?

I can build mines as the Selucids, Greeks and Brutii. Perhaps you just don't have any suitable deposites(only gold and silver can be mined)

You can only build mining in specific provinces, not in all provinces. There's a couple in Spain i can remember of...

If you look here: http://flyingpig.theanykey.com/~tjenkins/RTW/winter.JPG there is a structure to the right of Narbo Martius. That is an indicator that you can mine in that province.

I think mines are only listed in the building browser if the city you're looking at can actually build them.

One of my newly conquered cities in Gaul has a mine, I think it's Narbo Martius. I can't remember what resource it is mining though. Iron, silver and gold mines should be in the game. Silver mines simply have to be in the game. The silver mines of the Iberian city of Saguntum made it a primary target for Carthage and Rome. Ironically, despite it's historical importance Saguntum is NOT in the game!?! ~
