Picked it up this morning. Installed no problems. Off to read the manual with a nice cuppa and give it serious tonking. Like people said it is not like the demo.?The first battle in tutorial but i will reserve judgement for a few weeks. First impressions it looks superb i just hope it plays as good as it looks ~:) ~:) Are the rest of the UK/europeans impressed with the game as well.

Give me a chance to get it home and play it a bit and I'll tell you, I'm going to get to know the manual on the bus home first.

I got it too! I just woke up (hey, free day! ~;p) and it was already in the mail... I pre-ordered it because it was cheaper, but now it's also faster!
It's 1 jewel case btw (phew!) with all 3 CD's on one side (I said before that they existed!).

All installed and ready to go Scipii! Woohoo!

Edit: This is in Holland

You're quite lucky because I've also pre-ordered from Amazon.co.uk for a month but the game still hasn't been dispatched... Hopefully I'll get it for Christmas.

this morning a 9.00AM on the dot.

myself and some bearded d00d were waiting outside the local Game until the doors opened.

we both walked straight to R:TW, proceeded immediately to the counter, and departed the building with all available haste. :charge:

Ok Excalibur is mine... Rushing frantically into town on my lunch break I managed to buy it, pick up some food, bring it back to my flat AND Install it!! (And to think I only get an hour long lunch break)

When I get back later on I'll have a bash at it!

Got it. My amazon order shipped today but I got a copy from game, when my amazon copy arrives I shall simply take that sealed one back to game for a refund ("oh gosh, I brought one and someone gave me one as a present, oh gosh!") and voila.

So far not bad; it hasn't grabbed me but then I've only played one custom battle and the compulsery (Grrr!) tutorial. I need to tweak a lot of options etc before I start enjoying myself. So far most of my frustration has come from that tutorial with its insistance on giving you advice and forcing you to use the RTS camera. Now I'm past that ...

PS: A big thank you to CA for including an option I asked for waaaay back when RTW was first announced - the ability to chose specific weather types for custom battles. Thanks.

I can honestly say and i bought a brand spanking new computer[CUSTOM BUILT?] it doesnt half eat it up. I unistalled defraged scandisked It. it runs okay no problems but crank everything up to high or highest settings you can see the differance. The top end computer spec must be nuclear powered ~;). ~:)

Got it today. Went home on my lunch break, installed it and played though the prologue. As soon as i get home i will start my first full campaign as the Julii. Have to say that the campaign map looks amazing. Havn't tried a seige yet (skipped them during the prologue as time was short).

Was quite annoyed i had to do the prologue and couldn't go straight to a full campaign but understand why as it does act as a good tutorial.

YOU DON'T HAVE TO PLAY THE PROLOGUE!!

Just start the prologue, Escape out and back to the main menu, and you'll be able to go right into the Imperial Campaign.

And which one is that, if I may ask? The few sites i checked today don't seem to have the game in store yet (or didn't update their websites yet).

Oh well, doesn't matter now as i've done it. As i said i didn't mind doing it as it did teach me some stuff i didn't know. Just waiting for half 3 to come so i can get back to it

I bought it at lunchtime and am now busy watching the clock... hmmm, since it's Poets Day, I think I might leave before five. I was meant to be going to the gym after work, but my willpower crumbled a little more every time I glanced at the box sitting on my desk. ~:)

I want to get home and conquer the world, grinding it under my caligae. Muahahaha! *ahem*

Yay, got it too today. It was really beyond my expectations, as I've checked the game shop's website regularly today, but it always said "not in stock, no items dispatched yet". So I was a little disappointed. But when I got home I found this small delivery note in my mailbox. What!!?? They've been already here? Aargh. Decided to drive downtown and get my copy in the distributor's deposit. Heh heh, and so I did get the game today, woo-hoo!

Well I;ve had a chance to get going with it now, and it's far better than I was anticipating from all the gripes floating round the forum. I don't find the killspeed to be to fast, and while the infantry seem fast thats only becase they charge at full speed no matter the distance to target, rather than the old style MTW have to be close.

All in all it;s a bril game.

Have to say that it is brilliant. I played it from half 3 to bout 1 in the morning with only 1 CTD.

My Julii campaign is going well and i've eliminated the gauls and the Brits (had a great last battle against the brits - It was their faction leader with about 1200 men and me with about 400 consisting of only 4 units hastati and 3 units of equites, i decided to just go on an all out attack as there didn't seem to be any way i could win. In the end i managed to kill over 1000 of theirs including the faction leader and i lost only about 250-300 including my captain)

Just taking on spain and the macedons(sp) now and have conquered corinth, sparta and athens.

Thursday morning(Ireland) i first forrayed into barbarous Gaul at the head of my Julii armies.Loving the whole experience.Map is fantastic.Nothing in the battles including movement/kill speed that hasn't already been addressed to some extent so therefore i am content.Installed like a dream and handles like a new girlfriend.Excellent.Just hope the current girlfriend doesn't read this.

I've had it for a few hours now and I'm not sure if I like it or not. Could be just a case of getting used to it.

I'm sure once a few days go by I'll be hooked, but for now I'm at the "I wish this was more like the old TW" stage as I try to figure everything out.

(Mind you, I get confused very, very easilly by new controls. I couldn't put a Sesame Street puzzle together if someone didn't help me. )
