Resolution problem

Hello everyone!

My 17" monitor broke up, and I'm forced to play with this crappy 14" monitor, which doesn't even 1024x768. 800x600 is the best this can do.

The actual problem is, that the game doesn't allow smaller resolution than 1024x768 in the strategy map. Is there a way to turn the resolution to 800x600 anyway?

You can probably do it by opening up the preferences file in the main RTW folder - scroll down till you see the resolution option and change it to 800x600 then save the file.

I did as you said, but the game still runs at 1024x768, as it changes automatically the resolution in the preferences file back to 1024x768. It does so even if I mark the file "read only".
