Wanted to start this thread so we can get a compendium of good pointers
I will start off
I have always been successful when sieging a town by attacking from several different points this forces the army inside to split its forces so you avoid the massive bottle neck meat grinder you would get by just assulting one point make openings in the walls then charge in in at the sides first then once those assults are successful against the smaller detached forces you can start your main assult attacking from the front and back of the occupying force , this has worked without fail for me even with a smaller outnumbered force
