With RTW's MP problems, I'm once again faced with the thought of trying MP once the fixes get in. However, I must ask...
I tried MP with Shogun twice, and Medieval twice. In one of these games the server disconnected halfway through the battle. In one my "ally" sat in his corner (we were attacking), then started calling me a few unmentionables when most of my army (who were being attacked jointly by the enemy) started to run. In one, I was winning against someone and they disconnected. In the final one I played in MTW, there was so much revolting immaturity flying around that I simply disconnected and never went back.
Now, it may be that I simply hit four of the worst games imaginable. However, when I enter MP lobbies, I see the same sort of smack-talking and verbal defecation that have marked all my previous MP experience.
What this tells me is that to have fun with MP, you need to either:
1) have people you plan to meet there at a specified time to play, or
2) enjoy roughing people up verbally
Is this accurate?
