Now that I have spent all weekend playing there are a few things I really wish were changed.

I would love to increase the movement speed of units on the campaign map yet not have them instant as they are when you hit the space bar.

I wish the AI would lift blockades!

I wish there was SOME sense to the way sea battles come out.

I wish I knew how to make more money without the need to constantly expand and exterminate the population when I take over new settlements. I refuse to use the rebellion cheese tactic though.

I wish there was a way to see how much money a settlement really makes, not just the net. I guess you could bring up the details page and add it up but that seems like way too much work.

I wish there were more hours in the day to play. Good job CA!

AI ships do lift blockade. What they don't you is attack you in your home port.

To make lots of denari, you have to build a trade network, with ports, roads, trade buildings and lots of provinces. There are other sources like farms and mines.

One more thing is don't build too many troops. I see screenshots posted with garrisons on each province. A person can easily just build a bachus buildings and other happiness inducing buildings to create the same effect.

Take care of the rebels. You won't believe how much they disrupt. I after scouring around,I found this rebels sitting atop my traderoute in my "lesser" regions. Guess what, after that, I gained 10k denari per turn!! And some blinking Icons disappeared!! I'm now taking in at least 30k denari per turn net and it is only 218bc!

Once, I put a finger on that Corruption problem, that's at the very least another 10k.

So form a squad of diplomats and spies, and build watchtowers if you can to find the Rebels. They wreck havoc on trades :dizzy2:

One last thing, I totally with you on the rebellion tactic! If the AI can get me out of there, then I'll take it back. But if they can't, I'm not letting it go!!

As well as the AI not often attempting to relieve a blockaded port, it would be nice to see the AI blockading ports on a more regular basis. At the moment in my current campaign there's a huge Spanish fleet sitting outside my Julii cities (I'm a war with them) however, none of them are blockading any of the ports.

Would be nice if the AI managed its forces better. Alot of times I see it sending gus in little groups rather then large ones. While their combined force might be 1400+ they're too scattered so my 2800 guys can easily isolate the others and destroy them before they combine. I also rarely see armies led by generals. I think there needs to be a buildable general unit, maybe have it be an upgrade for 2+ experience units or something.

It has been my observation that the AI has too few generals because he throws them away in battle. But yes, he does need to field combined armies, not little tiny stacks.

Unless rebels are good at hiding I am killing all that I see. I am concentrating on trading and ports and roads and from reading other threads I will probably stop building farming upgrades and build religious ones instead.

I always played MTW with .matteosartori. on and I think I would enjoy toggling fog of war off if the speed that units moved on the campaign map was sped up. It seems there are quite a few who also feel this need.

I have 2 Carthaginian ports blockaded. They have 3 or 4 times as many ships as I do but haven't bothered to break the blockades in 10 years. What's up with that!

Anyway, pretty good game so far. I am no where near as excited as when I got MTW though.
