Can someone please explain to me, What is Anti-aliasing that appears on the menu screen? and what does it do?
Also what is better having the setting on, none or low?

The lower the resolution you play at, the more you will benefit from anti-aliasing.

AA is when the graphics card "supersamples" an image ina much higher res than you'replaying at and then shrinks it to your game res, smoothing out the edges ith intermediate shades as it does so.

The result is you get less "jaggies" (jagged zig-zag diagonal lines" in your image and it looks a lot smoother.

Should you use it? Anything 1024x786 or less then yes, 1280x960? - if your cideo card can handle it, yes. 1600x1200 and above - not muc hpoint really. For a game like this where you get lots of little men to look at I much prefer to use a very high res (over 1600x1200) and NO anti-aliasing ~
