Well I was thinking, hey I put a yari cav in the trees to hide these troops get near enough they cut off my sneak attacks, kinda sucks. How bout in the expansion there be a unit that kind permanantly, and only way to find them is to get really close the the hiding spot, so sneak attacks can work much more nicely!

I agree with you leoknite.Either the maps have to be bigger or the units hiding in the
trees have to be approached much closer to be spotted.I have had many ambushes spoiled by having my supposedly hidden monks or no-dachi discovered too soon.Hopefully this can be addressed in a future patch.

Shouldn't this be the ninja's job?

yeah, it has to be for the Ninja to do. I mean a hundred men on horses with big flags is not subtle....

well it would be better if ambushes were fixed, hecki say the only way to spot units is to send scouts into the woods, ninjas, or have people face the woods and stand really close, heck I once seperated my army into 2, i was going to let them pass me by, and have them come behind and have a nice shogun sandwhich. 1 yes I say 1 ashigura was far off, but my men were caught they ambushed the trees my men didnt get there in time, and I lost, which really sucked!

Yes, you can hide a hundred horsemen in a wood, but unless they are in the middle you are going to see them pretty quickly. Foot soldiers not at the edge of a wood hide very well already, but really, horses are big things, and if your men are trying to see an enemy, which they are, spotting something the size of a horse should not be difficult (unless it is a good way back in the woods).

Perhaps the battle-field ninja don't have the unit information show up when you point your mouse at them (you know-like all units do). This way they can truly hide in the woods, and unless you can see them clearly you'll not know they are there.

Just a thought.

I can understand being able to spot units hiding in the woods when there are no leaves on the trees.Horses are big animals but are they bigger than trees? If you are setting an ambush would you have the men your trying to hide wave a big flag?Hopefully this will be fixed in the future.Ambushes are an integeral
part in any war and right now about the only way to accomplish it is by hiding behind hills.
