i just went and tried a few of these. the console does come down, and it's the tilde key, but without the shift. just hit the key without using shift for uppercase.
i got the add_money to work....once. after that, i couldnt get it to work again. same with add_population. it worked once and only once.
i tried the give_trait and give_trait_points, but couldnt get them to work at all. not sure if this is because i tried other cheats before this and the thing just quits giving cheats or if i was entering it wrong or if the thing just doesnt work like it's stated.
i also got the process_cq to work, but again, only once. all attempts after the first successful one wouldnt work.
so, long story short... it seems buggy or inaccurate, but some did work.

ok, someone else mentioned this and i've been seeing the same thing. the cheat codes only seem to work once per session. so, if you 'add_money 10000' in a session, you'll only be able to do this once per session. to do it again you'll have to quit out of your current game and then start it again to get that cheat to work again. kind of odd, but that seems to be the way that it works. i dont know if you have to completely kill the game to do this again or just quit out of the campaign and then start it up again.
also, if anyone finds any other cheat codes OR uses for the console, i'd be interested in knowing what.

Good work, Kraellin. I also found these yesterday on another site. These are "real" cheats. We still need someone to come up with a way to unfreeze that bloody battle camera, though. I'm really becoming claustrophobic in towns and woods. :dizzy2:
PS: the FOG tilde commad does work for the campaign map. But, it allows you to find all the bandits who are pilfering your trade routes. Not sure I wanted to know just how bad it was. All I get done doing is fighting bandits! Now, I know there's MORE!

ok, i just checked this out. to get a cheat to work again, you must completely quit out of the game. you cant just quit the current campaign back to the main menu and start it up again. you have to completely kill the program.
there also seem to be limits on adding money or population per cheat. for money, it seems to be your total treasury cant exceed 20000 denari and for population i've only been able to add about 5000 per cheat to any given city. also, things like 'give_trait *name* Intelligent 3' have levels. for the one or two i've tried, it seems like level 3 is the maximum. when i try level 4 it doesnt work. level 3 'intelligent' gives the intelligent trait as 'genius'. so, there are definite limits to the cheats.

The FOW chaet stays on even if you shut the game down, just toggle it again to stop it. But ill leave it on, Ilike to know whats going on :)
Hmmm... has anybody got the 'create_unit' command to work? I always get a 'unknown settlement or character' error, and after every failed attempt I have to restart the game since it will only accept one try...
I used syntax like 'create_unit admiral_whatever naval_quinquireme 5 1/1/1', with and without underlines, to no avail. Any ideas?
i have never gotten the force_diplomacy to work

are you quoting their full names? can't recall exactly where, but i know i read that you have to quote any name longer than one word - i.e. "admiral james t kirk"

on my keyboard the key to bring up romeshell is actually the backtick ` , i think people say ~ cuz on most keyboards they share the same key. give backtick a shot
Thanks for that motorhead ~:thumb:
I saw the cheats a week ago but gave up without asking as the "~" key would not work. I will try the "," key when I get home. I only like it for the FOW cheat :jumping:
