Well, I started playing Rome: Total War yesterday. It's the first time I play anything from the Total War-series, but I liked this very much. I find it a little bit complicated, but I hope that this is normal for newbies. But off to my question, I started the Tutorial campgain. And after I had taken the first settlement (also the first mission from the senate), I was going to save. I pushed the ESC button, and tryed to save, but the button was white so it couldn't be pushed. So how can I save the game ? Do I have to save after a specific amount of time or what ?

I've been a bit stumped on that too. I am guessing that you cannot save the tutorial?

As far as I'm aware, you need to play about 10 turns before the save option gets enabled - once you can save, you can also start a proper campaign as well (well, that's the order I did it in anyway - call me impatient...)

Thanks Zatoichi!

Yeah you can save once you "finish" the tutorial. And at that point you can just exit and play the real game so I don't see the point really.

What do you mean "so I don't see the point really." ?
Didn't you see the title ?

Well i suppose you could keep playing but I found the tutorial campaign, after you could save, to be harder than playing the regular game. Was always in the negative as far as money goes so couldn't get much of an army.

Pardon a silly question, but did you type in a name for the save game in the little oblong box over all the option buttons?

And for the record, I'm not generally a game noob. It's just this game I'm a noob in, because this is much more advanced than any other games I've ever played. And I've never played much strategy, most Adventure games and First/Third person shooter games..
